Wolverine and Iron Man Anime?

Marvel had made a deal with animation studio Madhouse to create four anime series for 2010. The first two announced are a Wolverine anime series and an Iron Man series. Here's the teaser trailers for both of them.

I find the animation style pretty cool, but I have to say that the character design of Wolverine sucks. Just because the guy has 3 claws on each hand doesn't make him Wolverine. But whatever. It's better than nothing. Though the Iron Man anime looks freakin' sweet!

Marvel Super Hero Squad

A new Marvel animated series is coming to Cartoon Network. Marvel Super Hero Squad will debuts in late 2009 with 26 episodes. From what I know it will feature the heroes: Captain America, Iron Man, Wolverine, Silver Surfer, Hulk, Thor, and Falcon.

Description from Marvel:
"Shouting "Hero Up!" as they rush into battle, the Squad must keep Dr. Doom's allies from gathering pieces of the Infinity Sword. Otherwise, Doom will use the Sword to rule the universe! Luckily, the City is filled with Marvel Super Hero guest-stars to help out in a pinch. These brave heroes totally deliver the action—but with plenty of humor on the side."

The cartoon is kinda like an extension to Marvel's popular Super Hero Squad toys. So this cartoon is basically a very long and potentially entertaining toy commercial. But there will be many talented voice actors so I expect it to be a fun watch for little kiddies and a few of us big kiddies.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Video Game Trailer

Premiering at the New York Comic Con this year was this neat trailer for the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. It looks like it's going to be heroes against heroes for this one. Iron Man on one side, Captain America on another. It also seems to feature some kind of "fusion" system where the heroes can combine their powers for some pretty combos. The game plans on releasing Dec 31st, 2009.

Marvel Offering $250,000 to Mickey Rourke

It is said that Golden Globe winner Mickey Rourke is only being offered $250,000 for his role as the villian Crimson Dynamo in Iron Man 2. This is very little for an actor of an upcoming blockbuster movie. Marvel Studios probably offered Samuel L. Jackson a similar offer which is probably why Jackson said that he might not appear in the movie.

Iron Man has made $582 million in the box office worldwide. And in addition there are DVD sales, and licensed products like toys and clothes. How can Marvel Studios be struggling and needing layoffs? Where is all this money going?

Robert Downey Jr. Talks About The Avengers

MTV was able to talk with Robert Downey Jr. about his thoughts on the The Avengers movie. This is what he said:

“If we don’t get it right it’s really, really going to suck. It has to be the crowning blow of Marvel’s best and brightest because it’s the hardest thing to get right. It’s tough to spin all the plates for one of these characters.”

“I think its important that I do what I’m supposed to do which is keep my side of the street clean. "The danger you run with colliding all these worlds is [director] Jon [Favreau] was very certain that Iron Man should be set in a very realistic world. Nothing that happened in Iron Man is really outside the realm of possibility. Once you start talking about Valhalla and supersized super soldiers and jolly green giants it warrants much further discussion.”

He's right. Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk has been portrayed as stories that could happen in our world. But when you add flying thunder gods (Thor) and giant humans (Ant Man), things start turning into fantasy, which might not go well for the general audience.

The Avengers plans to be released in theaters on July 15, 2011.

Deleted Scene From Iron Man

Here is a deleted scene where Tony Stark first flies his Mark III to the Middle East to fight some bad guys. It's supposed to show how Tony gets to the Middle East because flying from California would be technologically "impossible" so instead he goes to Dubai and takes off from there. I'm glad that they cut it. It really slows the pace of the movie.
