Spiderman 5 and 6?

Sony has hired James Vandlerbilt to be the screenwriter for Spiderman 5 and 6.

Spiderman 4 won't start production till 2011 so who knows when 5 and 6 will start filming. Some people are suggesting that 5 and 6 maybe a reboot for Spiderman with different actors and everything, but I think that would be dumb since the Spiderman franchise is still pretty new.

Michael Papajohn Returning for Spider-Man 4

The actor who played the original carjacker guy in Spiderman said in an interview that he will be reprising his role in Spiderman 4. Considering that Peter Parker shouldn't have much of a grudge against this guy and that he died in the first movie, he'll probably be in some sort of flashback. Or maybe a clone. Spiderman 4: Attack of the Clones. Oh God!

Marvel Movies Get New Release Dates

Marvel Studios just announced some new release dates for their movies. Probably since they seem to be running behind schedule. But here are the new dates:

Iron Man 2: Unchanged with May 7, 2010

Captain America: Moved from May 6, 2011 to July 22, 2011

Thor: Moved from July 16, 2010 to June 17, 2011

The Avengers: Moved from July 15, 2011 to May 4, 2012

They are also planning on releasing Spider-Man 4 on May 6, 2011. Many many movies for 2011.

Be in the Spiderman 4 Movie

Sony has posted an ebay auction to raise money for the Stand Up to Cancer charity. The winner and a guest gets:

-A visit to the set of Spider-Man 4 (one shooting day)
-A meet and greet with the cast (1 hour)
-A walk-on/ extra role in the film for the auction winner only
-Trip to the New York premiere
-Designer outfits to wear to premiere for winner and guest from top designers
-Winner and guest may keep the outfits
-Winner and Guest will walk the premiere’s red carpet

Sweet deal. Currently after 22 bids, the auction is up to $5,000. If you got money saved up for a vacation, it might be time to use it. Check out the ebay auction and some of the restrictions here.

Captain America vs. Spiderman 4

It appears that Sony is thinking about releasing Spiderman 4 early May 2011. Captain America is planning on a May 6, 2011 release. So there is a conflict. When asked Maisel replied,

"we always have a lot of options now that we control green light and our destiny with these films. Obviously we can't respond to hypotheticals and what we would do with various either competitive moves or partner moves, like Sony with Spider-Man. So at this point, I'd just have to say once a move like that happens, we'll obviously let our response be made publicly but it wouldn't be constructive to respond to a hypothetical."

So he means that if Spiderman 4 choses to release in May 2010, Marvel Studios and Sony will just work it out.

Maybe they should just combine Spiderman and Captain America into a super movie.

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows Video Game Trailer

I know that everything that I've been posting recently isn't exactly Avenger related news, but things have been slow on the Avenger front, so to pass the time, here is a new trailer for a brand new Spider-man game planning to release Oct. 21 2008. From the footage, this game is going to be freakin' awesome! And it's great that Peter Parker doesn't have a squeaky teenage voice in this one.

Spiderman 4 in May 2011

We all thought it ended with the third Spiderman movie. Many hated it, but I actually thought it was ok. I accepted the end, but just like the X-men trilogy, I wanted to see more. Wait a second...Yay! They have announced Spiderman 4! Spider-Man producer Laura Ziskin said the fourth installment of Spiderdude will appear in May 2011. Screenwriter James Vanderbilt (The Rundown, Zodiac) is currently working on a screenplay. Now director or actors have been contracted but Tobey Maguire said he'd be interested in working on another film if Director Sam Raimi is also involved.

So it turns out that there will be three Marvel Studios movies in 2011. Spiderman 4 in May, Captain America May 6th, and The Avengers in July. That would be a huge summer for superheroes, not to mention and DC movies that may be released also.

Spiderman, Iron Man, and the Hulk

Just a pretty sweet animation of the three superheroes. I'm pretty sure that Marvel produced this themselves, but I'm not sure why. It's not for a video game. Maybe it's just to add some hype around the idea of Marvel Superheroes teaming up. After seeing this short, it makes me wonder if Marvel plans on making a CGI movie...you know, for the kids...and me.
