Iron Man 2 Casting Update

So far it has been officially confirmed that Mickey Rourke has been signed on to play one of the villains (Whiplash we think) in Iron Man 2. They renegotiated with Marvel and he's now getting paid more.

It is also officially confirmed that Scarlett Johansson will be playing Black Widow now that Emily Blunt has declined the role.

And with Sam Jackson signed on too, there shouldn't be any major castings and they can start filming. Hooray!

Who Plays Black Widow in Iron Man 2?

Before I mentioned that Emily Blunt was probably going to play the character Black Widow, but recently it has been brought up that under a contract she has with FOX, that she might have to play a role in the upcoming movie Gulliver's Travels which will provide a scheduling conflict with the Iron Man 2 shoot. So because Blunt isn't a sure deal, Marvel Studios has add Scarlett Johansson into consideration. Johansson has met with Director Jon Faverau and some other Marvel people and she says that she's interested. She is now just waiting for Blunt to officially decline her offer.

Marvel is really getting lots of big actors in their movies. I wonder how they are going to pay for them all?

Emily Blunt as Iron Man 2's Black Widow

Emily Blunt is in talks with Marvel Studios for the role as Black Widow in Iron Man 2.

Here is her IMDB profile. Here is a description of the character of Black Widow from Marvel's Website.

I just hope Blunt can make a convincing Russian accent.
